"The Christian faithful (…) have the right and even at times the duty to manifest to the sacred pastors their opinion on matters which pertain to the good of the Church and to make their opinion known to the rest of the Christian faithful". (Code of canon Law Can. 212 §2-3)

"Communication both within the Church community, and between the Church and the world at large, requires openness (…) so as to promote a correctly-informed and discerning public opinion within the Christian community". (Apostolic Letter "The rapid Development" of the Holy Father John Paul II, 2005.1.24 n.12)

Man’s revenge against the God of Life

There is nothing hidden, but it must be disclosed” (Mk 4:22)

From the sworn testimony of Alessia Zimei before the Ecclesiastical Court:

T: and then another friend of his called my oldest brother (this other friend of his) his name is Paolo Giuliani and he works at a notary office there in L’Aquila, he’s a close friend of his – he is also in the same Order of the Knights of the Holy Sepulchre – he said to my brother Francesco, he said “tell your sister that she has to write something, because it may be useful because they are finally trying to frame Father Andrea and what she can say….”

Why did they try to “frame” Father Andrea D’Ascanio?

It all started on the 28th of December 1991, with the inauguration of the monument to Mary Mother of the Unborn Children in the cemetery of L’Aquila (Italy).

The inauguration of the monument, two years after the start of the burial of the remains of children murdered by the practice of abortion, is the last act of a patient work of legal investigation, contacts with ecclesiastical and political personalities, and, above all, prayer carried out by the Armata Bianca, an ecclesiastical movement founded in 1973 by the capuchin father Andrea D’Ascanio (www.armatabianca.org).

Journalists and TV channels from all over Italy participated in the ceremony, who attended attracted by this initiative that broke with the now discounted habit of throwing away the “abortive remains” in drains, toilets, trash containers...or, if applicable, using them as raw material for the manufacture of cosmetics.

This first burial in L’Aquila had ripples around the world and triggered absurd reactions from the mass media and the political world, above all in the field of feminism and pro-abortionists.

Why? Because the burial demonstrates that abortion is homicide.

Faced with the evidence provided by a small coffin, the hypocritical statement that an aborted child is not ALIVE is destroyed.

That small coffin shouts “non licet!” (“illegal!”) to all parents, doctors, healthcare personnel, politicians, legislators, journalists... who insist on saying that homicide, the crime par excellence, is a civil, beneficial and democratic action, which sometimes becomes legitimate, if not obligatory even. China is a good example.

So much free publicity by the newspapers helped the Armata Bianca to announce and, therefore, to disseminate this initiative. In several cemeteries in Italy and other countries, the remains of children murdered by the practice of abortion or of those who were born dead started to be buried. All this in an atmosphere of great controversy.

In such incandescent climate, a “friend” suggested to Father Andrea D’Ascanio that he should put an end to this ideological battle, because it could have grave personal consequences.

- “What kind of death would they make me die?”, asked Father Andrea, almost jokingly.

- “The worst kind?”, replied his interlocutor, “moral death: you will be destroyed as a man and as a priest”.

It would seem it rather improbable because in order to harm Father Andrea in the ecclesiastical field would require the intervention of the highest religious leaders, but Archbishop Mario Peressin supported all his initiatives and the Pope John Paul II loved and esteemed him to the extent of granting a special audience to 10,000 children of the Armata Bianca, the first audience in history of this size, which was granted exclusively to the little ones.

The person who gave him this warning was not joking and was in no hurry: after several years, on the 6th of June 1998, Monsignor Mario Peressin ended his mandate due to having reached the maximum permitted age in his position and was succeeded by Monsignor Giuseppe Molinari, who had acted as his assistant since March 1996, with the status of coadjutor with right to the succession.

Just three days after his official appointment, this leader summoned Father Andrea D’Ascanio to the Curia and informed him that a process had been filed against him with the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.

Such process began in 1998 but, given that the judgment took a long time to be passed and that everything appeared to indicate that he would be absolved, then the same accusers, in November 1999, filed another process in criminal proceedings, multiplying and increasing the charges.

The mass media are who confirm that the principal motivation behind these processes is the burial of unborn children: all newspaper articles and television news broadcasts show the photo of the monument to Mary Mother of the Unborn Children located in the cemetery of L’Aquila, with the clear intention of reminding us that such Father Andrea D’Ascanio and his Armata, who commit the crimes indicated in the articles, are the same who carried out the “crime” of burying those children who died as a result of an abortion.

In order to highlight the foregoing statement, it was the Archbishop of L’Aquila himself, Giuseppe Molinari, who made the following statement on television:

Interviewer: “In your heart, were you worried by... by this association, by the activity it carried out in the past? – Monsignor Molinari: “Yes, that is... if you fight in favor of life and if then with your life you don’t concretely demonstrate that you love and promote life, everyone’s freedom...well, then it is not congruent”. (In the News on 20.05.2000).

But the truth prevails:

  1. First ecclesiastical process (1998-2002). Acquittal of Father Andrea D’Ascanio and sentence against Monsignor Giuseppe Molinari.

  2. First criminal process (1999-2003). Father Andrea was acquitted of all accusations, except for one, which was appealed because the fact does not subsist.

  3. Criminal appeal process (2003-2006). Father Andrea D’Ascanio was acquitted because the fact does not subsist.

  4. Civil process of the Archiepiscopal Curia against Father Andrea and the Armata Bianca regarding the agreement for use of the real estate property that forms the headquarters of the Armata Bianca (2000-2004). Father Andrea D’Ascanio was acquitted and the gratuitous loan agreement under which the real estate occupied by the Armata Bianca was given thereto was acknowledged to have full force and it was declared in the same process that the testimonies offered by Archbishop Monsignor Giuseppe Molinari were “false and lacking any credibility”.

  5. Second process –ecclesiastical farce (2002-2005). Father Andrea D’Ascanio is sentenced without being heard and denying him his legitimate right to appeal.

It is disconcerting that it was precisely men of the Church who insisted on sentencing a priest who is guilty of nothing more than to have testified to the essential values of the Holy Mother the Church with great fortitude and congruency, which he truly loves.

This is the witness of thousands and thousands of people who have met him in the numerous countries he has travelled to on a continuous mission, from distant Russia to all the Americas.

On June 29, 1972 Pope Paul VI said: “The smoke of Satan has entered the Church”.

In the Way of the Cross of 2005, Card. Ratzinger wrote: “Lord, your Church often seems like a boat about to sink, a boat taking in water on every side. In your field we see more weeds than wheat. The soiled garments and face of your Church throw us into confusion. Yet it is we ourselves who have soiled them! It is we who betray you (…) and Satan laughs”.

Father Gabriel Amorth, a world renowned exorcist, declared in his interview with Marco Tosatti, published in “Memoirs of an Exorcist”: “Yes, also in the Vatican there are members of Satanic sects…there are priests, monsignors and also cardinals!... I know from those who have been able to relate it to me because they had a way of knowing it directly. And it's something that has been 'confessed' several times by the devil himself under obedience during the exorcisms… The Pope was informed! But he does what he can… It’s a horrifying thing”.
